I’m really excited to announce a significant milestone in our journey. Whisk has agreed to be acquired by Samsung and join Samsung NEXT’s Product team. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.
The last 12 months have been amazing—we’ve grown our team from 14 to 32, tripled our revenue (we’re profitable), and we now power more than half a billion recipe interactions per month.
We first started working with Samsung in the UK back in 2016, and quickly saw the unique opportunity to further scale and strengthen our platform with one of the most successful companies in the world. Now, together, we have the potential to power experiences all around the world.
Our goal has always been to help businesses build integrated, intelligent, and meaningful food experiences for consumers. By joining Samsung we believe we can deliver on that mission and unlock new ways of adding value to our partners and users.
Our plan is for the entire Whisk team to stay along for the journey, and we will continue to grow and invest in new products to accelerate our progress. We’ll also be investing in key areas to support and grow our partnerships with the world’s leading recipe publishers, CPG brands, grocery retailers, IoT companies, or digital health providers.
Samsung is a global leader in technology that is transforming TVs, smartphones, PCs, home appliances and a host of other technology categories. Samsung NEXT’s mission is to help transform Samsung through software and services innovation. Together, we will be focusing on delivering seamless digital food experiences by leveraging Samsung’s scale.
The Samsung NEXT Product team, built and led by Travis Bogard, has worked at Silicon Valley companies such as Uber, Jawbone, Microsoft, eBay, and many leading startups. This team truly believes in what we have built and I’m thrilled about our future together.
